Big camera... I ran across this blog entry, thought I'd share it, it's about big images...

The Big Guns!

Thought I'd add the smallest as well:

1927: Smallest Photo Stolen : IN OUR PAGES: 100, 75 AND 50 YEARS AGO
International Herald Tribune

Thursday, October 3, 2002

LONDON: A photograph so small that 300 reproductions would only occupy the space of an ordinary pin-head has been stolen from the exhibition of the Royal Photographic Society at Russell Square. The photograph is mounted on a slide, and is so small that it cannot be seen by the naked eye. "The photograph is a portrait of J.N. Niepce, French inventor," said the secretary of the society to a "Daily Express" representative, "and was produced by Professor Goldberg. It can only be seen through a microscope."

Not sure what the 1927 has to do with it... wish I could fins an image of it...

Everyone's Favorite Place To Remember a Fallen Solider

ok so i found this on the bathroom door in the downtown Loco's this weekend. i thought it was kind of crazy/sad that one could choose to commemorate the one they love a 'USA hero' on a bathroom wall. interesting place for a temporary memorial. sorry about the crappy quality i took it with my camera phone.

It's time to trade... finally!
Ok everyone, I finally have some time to send out your images... and i got some paper... Who do I owe what?

Al, is the image I posted above the one you want?
Mandy I forgot which one you want...

Who else wants to trade?

I'm trading 8x10's cause I don't want to roll them (mandy, by the way, your image arrived safely, Thank you! and is now, by the aid of many photo history books being pancaked.)

Stephen "F-ing" Shore

and now for something more photography related...
here is a short movie on Stephen Shore.
As for the title of the posting... when you're looking for a job, you're at the CAA conference, and you realize that it is the worst experience of your life... find Steve Bliss and ask him about Stephen "F-ing" Shore.

Enjoy and maybe I'll see you all in New York!

hey all, i hope all is well.

while sitting in the studio very bored i thought that maybe it is time to expand our little JGMM world. there are some new grads (and some old ones) running around Bergin that do not know the wonder of what we got going on here.

so i thought i would pose this to the group and see what others though and if we think it is a good idea, maybe the awesome Jay G. could send out the invites.

I'm leaving blogger! (if you have ever looked at my blog here at blogger...)

Why? you may ask...

Is it because I don't like it here?

No, I just figured out how to do it myself and I wanted to integrate it into my website (that part is still coming) but so far I have made the move and painted the walls... hung up a picture as well... come on by and say hello... I am planning on having more writing up on a regular basis... things are just busy now... looks like I'll be teaching Flash next week! well anyways... check it out...

So, I was going to rip Jeremias' idea of having a show where all the photographs were printed on cakes (not for my work, but for my advanced students.) When I mentioned the idea to a collegue, he shot me down and told me what a stupid, immature idea it was and how it illustrated to the students unprofessionalism!

This is terrible. I don't even like his artwork, but I am still very stained that he was fired because of it. Can you imagine being fired because of your art?

"Virginia school board fires 'butt-printing' art teacher. A Virginia art teacher whose off-hours work as a so-called "butt-printing artist" became widely circulated among high school students has been fired."

Thought this was kind of interesting, but didn't some artist do this in the 70s? Does anyone know his name?

Happy New Year Everyone!
Sorry Al, (and Jay) I don't think I'll make it to Miami, it's a busy time and I was just in Miami for Art Basel. If the chance arises that I do go, I'll look forward to seeing you all, but as of right now I am not going. Are any of you going to CAA? If I get some interviews I think I'll go for the day or maybe overnight (we're only a $15, 4 hour bus ride away, you gotta love the china town bus, that is if it doesn't crash, like it has been... hmm... risks... HA!)
